This black zirconium ring features a crossed brushed finish with an offset koa wood inlay. Unlike black tungsten, this black zirconium ring will not be a coating but a solid black. This is achieved by extreme temperatures which alters the titanium at a molecular level to give them their black color.
Beautifully crafted with the Hawaiian koa, which is a exotic wood that originates from the Big Island of Hawai'i. Different parts of the island yields a distinctive hue to the color of the wood.
The beautiful colors ranges from yellow or greenish-yellow, through orange, brown, and red, to almost black, and hues of different colors can be derived from a single trunk. In the Hawaiian language "koa" means "warrior" which symbolizes strength, fearlessness and bravery. First off, it arrived faster than I would have expected being from Hawaii. But the ring itself is very classy looking. The wood is almost slightly reflective the polish is so good, and it’s protected by a clear layer. The engraving is very well done. The color of the ring is not a true black, more of a dark metal color like hematite, but I love that look and I’m very happy with the ring. The fit is slightly domed inside for comfort too.
