Types of Metals

Here at HappyLaulea we use many different types of metal to make our high-quality jewelry. Here is a little more information on the types of metal that we use…

Gold

Gold has always been one of the most popular of metals for jewelry, because it’s extremely malleable, along with classically beautiful. It’s been popular for the entirety of human history, with everyone from the Romans to the Ancient Egyptians having a lust for gold.

At HappyLaulea, we have a number of stunning 14K solid gold rings with which to celebrate your love.

Tungsten Carbide

Not as well-known as gold, Tungsten Carbide is nonetheless a highly beautiful material and it’s also extremely hard; in fact, it’s 10 times harder than 18K gold. Because of this, it’s become extremely popular in bridal jewellery. Choose Tungsten Carbide and it’s guaranteed to last for a lifetime.

Hi-Tech Ceramic

Often used to make watches, hi-tech ceramic is a glossy black material that is both striking and durable. Previously used in the fields of medicine and aeronautics, it made its way into the world of jewellery via watch making. It’s extremely scratch resistant and made using the scientific methods of glazing and firing.

Titanium

Once again, titanium is extremely durable and has become extremely popular for designer jewellery. Because it’s very inert, it’s a good choice for people with allergies. Durable, lightweight and corrosion resistant, titanium can also be alloyed with gold.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel might not sound glamorous but it can last longer than gold. There is a growing niche of stainless steel jewellery, as it’s highly versatile. Why not check out our range of stainless steel jewellery?

Sterling Silver

Many people today prefer silver to gold, and it’s a highly popular choice. Sterling silver is composed of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals, which is usually copper. This is because pure silver is usually too soft to be used alone for jewelry.

At HappyLaulea, we have a range of sterling silver rings, combined with Koa wood inlays.

Platinum

Often seen as a symbol of prestige, platinum is extremely rare and associated with exclusivity and wealth.  What better metal to use for your wedding ring?

If you love the idea of this metal, check out our collection of Platinum Rings at HappyLaulea.
